Yamaha will soon be out with a 350-hp 4-stroke outboard. Dry weight is about 810 lb.

Wow! What a monster to be hanging off the transom.

It might find applications where twin 150s,175s, or 200s are now being used. My guess is it's lighter than a pair of them. I ran across a guy yesterday who has a big Fountain with trip 275 Mercury 4-strokes. He was very surprised, and who knows? The need for speed is a powerful urge, and I suspect he's got the money.

Yammy 4stroke 150 short shaft weighs 466 lbs dry.

The 200's weigh 583

The 350 is about 2 1/3 lb per hp, which is lighter than the others.

quad 250s are fairly common around here... there guys are going to run to the Intrepid or whatever dealers waving half million dollar checks to be the first on their canal with quad 350s hanging off their transoms...
