Yamaha 4-stroke 225hp issue over 5000rpm

Hello,

Hopefully someone had the same issue and knows the problem. Pair of Yamahas 2005, 225 Hp. All is fine up to 5000 rpms, once we push it harder, the starboard motor starts to fluctuate. It will go to 5500, then drop to 4800,4600 the go back up to 5200, 5000, 5500. All the while the port motor stays at 5500.
Any idea where to start looking.

Thanks, but if the hub is spun, wouldn't the RPM go up and not down, thinking the motor would rev higher?

DEf sounds like a fuel issue..

My brother-in-law had some issues with a 300 Yamaha and we brought it to Chris at Delmarine in Amityville. It turned out to be the ECM and some cooling issues but he got it all straightened out and under warranty.
