Hi gang, planning on a visit to Baltimore and doing the whole family thing, O's Game, Aquarium, etc... Anyone know anything about HarborView Marina? I beleive they have an indoor pool (for my teenage kids). I heard that Harbor East is under renovations and in a bit of turmoil. Appreciate any recomendations. Thanks, I4NI

HarborView has floating piers. Some of the marina is double slips between full-length finger piers, with nothing between the slips - not even an outside piling to pivot around while docking. This can make life very interesting, if you are entering or leaving a weather slip while the leeward slip is occupied.

Don't you hate those kinds of slips? It's not just your movement that's a problem. You're also at the mercy of how well your fellow slipholder can dock and the quality/quantity of his fenders. No thanks.

Not really worried about the slips, I'll be on a T-Head anyway. My beam is 17', just wanting to know about the Marina in general.

They provide a long trans. pier for larger beams, however depending on weather and boat traffic, it can get a little choppy. You can see that on marinas.com . I have been there several times by land and once via water, and I have never seen an indoor pool, however they may issue priviledges for the resident pool. I believe there is one attached to gym for Harborview residents. The outside one is right out there close to bulkhead pier, and is a great view for the area. It does put you on the otherside of the harbor, however the water taxis are usually pretty good at trans.
