Croton is not a happy place tonight. Just got an extra stern out when mama nature said, GOTCHA!!!!

40 knot gusts. Waves coming up on the bow. So who's coming out tomorrow? ;)

I think that I flew over your marina last night on the way into Teterboro, NJ. I never reallized how many boats were in that relativly small area of the Hudson. No wonder the "seas" run 2-3 feet on the weekends. Looks like you have a great one this weekend, have fun.

Still waiting for the fun to start Henry. Gusts are back up over 30knots. Not a great sleeping night.

Hogan, you can turn off the wind now please!

Rommer, what's the f'cast for today....will it be windy? We were planning on taking some friends to Croton so the kids can swim and play.

Chris

2 words, FORGET IT!!!!

Really bad today. We left and went to south side before my anchor roller broke. Nothing like having your rode jam between some metal and the boat hull. Just got back to the dock. Trip from south Croton to Haverstraw Marina was not fun. Waves over the bow as we headed across the river where the wind was less. Your side of the river is getting slammed....

Thanks, we did abort mission and went to a BBQ instead. It was frustrating to be outside in what appeared to be a beautiful day but I swear when I drove down to the river earlier, it was like chocolate milk in a blender. Sorry to hear about your roller but glad that you were able to get home safe. Was it a good day to have a thruster or what?

First of all, Hello from the Catkills....

We got hit with very stron winds Friday night as the storm came thru. Forcast said 60 to 70 mph. No lighting or thunder and just heavy rain for a short period of time. The good news is we had just gotten the fire started and it survived the storm. Yesterday was windy as , well you know but the river was flat as could be. Took a ride on the gofast up to Hudson.

Now the bad news, we have to leave today to head home. Oh well all good thing have to come to an end.

I tried to stop by Saturday, but it was nasty as hell, even once in the bay. I just turned south and kept going. I was returning from Lake Champlain, and pushed through the night to be able to come and meet up at Croton and hang out for the day. No luck. Was happy to get back inot my marina Saturday, it was super windy. Friday night, I ran for about 5 hours behind a tug doing 10 knots. probably shoulda just stayed at Coeymans.

That was some nasty wind from 10:45 PM Friday night to about 5:00PM Saturday, at which time we went to Bowline and rafted with rommer, Robyn's Nest & Sweetness.

Hey Butch, did you try calling me Sunday afternoon around 2:45-3:00? I was anchored south of Newburgh on the west side and heard my name, answered back but then there was no response. Saturday was windy everywhere, they had the wooden boat show in Kingston but the wind was coming out of the north so it wouldn't have been a fun ride up.

Can you believe it's almost Labor Day? [:-banghead]

We did George. As we went past your marina we gave you a call. I was going to call you again as we were going past the Newburgh bridge but got side tracked as my son Steven passed us with the gofast. He left 2 hours after us and beat us home. Sorry we did not hear you. Have to catch up with you and get a peek at the new boat.
