Just saw a add for these things. They attach magnetically to your trailer and have plug in transmitter replacing your wiring harness. If nothing else they would be a good backup system if your hardwire rig were damaged while on the road. Anybody ever use them?

Cool idea...for backup...and pretty inexpensive. You need the vehicle to be wired for towing to plug in the transmitter.

BillD, this is a good post for ATC. I have no idea how to move it. (Hard to remember ATC when we spend so much time in NBR)

Be sure to remove them before backing the boat trailer down the ramp. ;)
Speaking of boat trailer, how do they attach to an aluminum trailer? Maybe suction cups?

They say "waterproof" and yes optional mounting ways.

It does seem like every spring my trailer light wires fail, and night before I first move the boat I’m outside in the dark troubleshooting messed up wiring. Next time they fail, I’m probably going wireless. Not worried about mounting them, but keeping them charged may be a hassle.

In the last year, someone cut my wires right at the light, no friggin reason as the boat was parked in its assigned space. This last trip down someone had hit the light mounting bar and bent it almost 90 degrees and of courise screwed up the light. Add to that that I can not count the number of times they have failed for various reasons over the years. With 10 hour run time and a simple usb charger unless one is on a long trip popping the off, charging, and putting back on should not be too much of a hassel. I've about convinced myself I "need" a set.😁
Oh add to that my utility trailer whose lights seem to always get damaged, especially if I let someone borrow it..

I am on my third set. They work great. Easy to remove when you back into the water. The only thing I suggest is don't rely on the magnets alone add some mini bungies (that's why I am on the third set). I use it on three different trailers, no more hardwired crap!
