robs pewter is the nicest set-up for a colored hull, or white..the blue shows more than any other color. trade-in value is the same no matter what the color. cummins is the best.

I too have the pewter hull on a 420DA. I have seen lots of blue hulls on Sea Rays and they seem to hold up as well as other colors. In fact, even with quarterly waxing, the white gelcoat seems to discolor more than the pewter part of the hull. Interestingly I think Sea Ray has discontinued the pewter on the 44 (nee 420) and your choices are now black, blue or white. Other than the tires on my car, I don't own anything black--Ugly. In salt water I think white or pewter would work best.

Do not use fender covers--they tend to collect dirt and sand which scratches the hull. Just keep your fenders clean.

Hobot,
Igot pics of a blue hull with what were white fenders.... The fenders are now blue and the rubbing action of the fenders RUBBED the hull . ( meaning u can see where the fenders were hung on the hull)

Rubber against the colored hull cant be good the pewter wont show it

I have not seen a blue hulled boat where the scratches weren't like a beacon screaming to be seen.....

The lighter colors hide scratches much better

As for black...I think its a stupid color strictly from a safety point of view....
