I got a fuel pump for a striaght 6 chevy 250 from Boatfix.com
Question:
Which way does it mount to the engine?
Most pictures I have seen for this pump it seems to be mounted "upside down" with the filter on top. The way the block is it looks like it needs to be mounted with the filter down.
When I mount it with the filter down the cam does not make contact with the pump lever. So, my next step is to mount it filter up, lever on the top side of the cam rather than below. Just need to know if this is in fact how it should be mounted.
The whole reason for this mess is that the previous owner installed an electric fuel pump in the engine compartment, which I feel would be unsafe, and the engine did not run correctly with the electric pump installed.
