I have been trying to gain access to my water heater in my '84 11 Meter Trojan. I can see that it is behind the steps into the cabin, but I have had no luck in finding how to remove the stairs. I found that it was screwed down along the front flange of the fiberglass casting, removed those screws, but still no joy. Any help with this is appreciated.

Have you tried asking on the Trojan forum there is a forum for Trojan owners while you may get an answer here I know you will get an answer there. I used to read the forum a bit but I was told I don't have a real Trojan so I moved on. There are some very knowledgeable people there that would know all about your boat!

Dave is correct, you may get a better answer on the Trojan forum. RWS, who also contributes here, may be able to help as he is quite good with the meter boats.

Dave, I am a regular contributor over there and I don't know who may have put a bad taste in your mouth, so I personally feel bad about that...but we do know a lot about Trojans as a group, specifically the meter boats, the F series and older Trojans. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of participating folks with your model boat for discussions. You, Hogan, John and a few others with these models are probably much more knowledgeable. We are limited on specific parts availability as well.

If you need any info on your Trojan, let me know and I can put you in touch with Bob who may be able to help. I hope that you will participate from time to time for anyone who may need your advise and help.
Thanks.

I'm a member of that forum as well since the 11 meter was almost my first boat. Very knowledgable on everything Troajan over there so likely your best bet.

Dave,

Sorry you left the Forum.

Despite what you may think, it's not just about old wooden Trojans,

or

F Series

or

Internationals

or

runabouts

or Trojan boats built outside of Lancaster PA.

Hope to see you back as your insight and contributions were always helpful.

RWS I enjoyed the forum I was a bit put off but I got over it. I was on the forum a few weeks ago but I felt like a stranger there I replaced my laptop I will have to save the site as a favorite so I would check it more often.

BTW Rick you made the right move while I love the old Trojans the boat you were considering sounded like a money pit you did much better with what you choose!

I have posted on the Trojan Forum and have not been successful in getting a resolution to my dilemma. Just checking all possibilities. I figure that someone must know the answer to this. I'm betting that it is simple, but it eludes me thus far.

Thanks RWS. I will give him a try.

I'm really surprised that you didn't get a response on the Trojan forum!

I was told the same thing, and moved on as well.

I contacted Roger as you suggested RWS and got a detailed reply and quick. Thank you for steering me in his direction. It seems that there are screws behind a fire extinguisher mounting built into the stair case, that screw into the engine firewall. Now I have something to work with. Can't wait to get to the boat to apply Roger's information.
