Am visiting Toronto, Canada for 4 days (starting today) and it's downright cold for me. I flew in from Ft. Lauderdale with 95 degrees, and I felt cold. OtherGary, are you the one docked at the Bluffs? You trying to get in as much boating as you can before it gets really cold? I might be able to pass by and check your boat out - what's the name?

I don't know why Canada doesn't use real thermometers

They do the same thing with Gas - sell it by the liter so you think you are getting a bargain. I mean, after all, zero degrees is not 32 degrees, zero degrees is zero degrees. That's why so many people fall through the ice up there. They say, "Hey, it's been zero for three days, the lake should be solid for my snowmobile, eh? Hold my Labatts while I go for a spin." Then down they go.

John, you are right - and it's not fair. You buy gas for $1.09 then get to go over 100 to boot. You save money on electricity because your water boils at 100 degrees, we have to heat ours to more than twice that. It used to be a great place to visit because you could go into a bar, order a beer, give the bartender a 20 and get $22 change.

Gaines, I think our friends in the SE have perfected the routine but the behavior has existed for hundreds of years.
