I picked up a 1969 16' Searay (outboard model) to fix up. The boat thankfully has a whole bunch of original parts that can be easily restored.

Does anyone know of a website or a catalog that specializes in older classic boats?

When I got this spring it came with a 70hp Tohatsu, ran great, but it blew a rod and the engine is now junk. Im in the process of rigging a 115hp Johnson on the boat. I cant seem to find what this boat is rated for as far as motor hp goes. Im sure the 115 is way too much power, but who cares lol

Looking for a place to get some parts, and information wiring diagrams, cleats, lights, maybe even a windshield???

Thanks

Bud.......Check on e-Bay for vintage parts. Sometimes I see them on there.

e-Bay motors....then boat parts...then search Sea Ray....also check listed stores like Great Lakes Skipper ...etc.

Good Luck.....

Ive tried the whole ebay search. Problem is, this boat is very rare due to age and production amount..

THanks

you'd think a guy who claims to have years of experience with boats know where to find such basic information and that a "marine engineer" woudl be able to quickly draw a wiring driagram for a little 16 footer...

I'd recommend hiring a "marine engineer" who has been around Carvers for over 30 years. I'm sure someone like that will have all the answers you need.

Actually. for a 16 footer its not as easy as it sounds. For some reason searay ran the wires under the deck. It has nothing to do with me drawing up a diagram, thats the easy part..I rather not rip up the floor to find out how the wires go, whether its from bow to stern down the center or if it splits off at the bow and runs down the port or starboard side or both..

Parts? Its call searching for a needle in a hay stack. Ive exhausted all my options in finding parts, hence this was the last resort. But as usual no one is helpful. They have to carry the anger from one post to another.

Do you actually think that with posts like this anyone here is going to do ANYTHING to assist you? Go play somewhere else.

Because you have to be a paying member to use the email function - and I wouldn't want to clog up your 'business email' trying to settle this "spout" (whatever the hell "spout" means.

If you want to play nice, that's fine, you ought to start by reading the forum rules you agreed to when you signed up - and abiding by them, and then apologizing for your insulting posts.

I do have to give you credit, in less than 10 posts here, you have managed to piss off every member who has read your crap.

OK........Lets all cool off for a while.

( Plus.....I just ran out of popcorn )
