Now this is kind of odd, this is the second conversation I had today about Schlegels.
If the windows are Taylor Made, the fuzzy strips are called Schlegels. Schlegel, I think, is actually the brand name of the supplier. You should be able to tell though if you have Taylor windows as the glass will have "Taylor Made" etched into one corner.
You can call Taylor and get samples. The ones used on my boat are Taylor Made part: 4965390 and 4966110. Whether or not they are the same for your boat, that you will have to figure out. However, Taylor Made sent me samples so that I could verify they were the right stuff.
I have purchased some, but not yet installed them. They are rather inexpensive, so it doesn't hurt to buy extra. I ordered about 50ft of each; way more than enough, and if I recall, it was about $30 for both.
Here is the contact I used to purchase the Schlegels:
Kristen Hohenforst - Taylor Made Systems NY.
Customer Service Representative
518-773-9336 or 518-773-2919
I contacted her a year ago, so I am not sure if this is still a good contact.
I am not sure the best way to install them as I have yet to do so, but I think removing the sliding windows will be necessary.
If your windows are not Taylor Made, then this won't be applicable; but it is still possible that the fuzzies are Schlegels.
