I have recently purchased the above boat. The access to the swim platform is difficult to access from the aft. There is no ladder at the moment so you have to climb over to gain access and it is worse when you want to get back in. I investigated getting a access door cut in the transom, but the cost seem very high. The swim platform I assume is original and it is no more than 18" wide.

I will eventually be replacing the swim platform to gain some extra room.

Does anyone have any ideas or options for me to try now as well as when I get a larger swim platform?

Hi, sorry no one responded to this yet - I would suggest a ladder over the transom, which is what I have on my 2896 and most of the 3396s I've seen have one also. It doubles as a swim ladder by folding down.

Also, I wouldnt weaken those transoms by putting doors in them - they are somewhat thinly built as it is so I wouldnt increase the stress.
