Twin 350 Mercs.

We had it surveyed, repaired per the survey, and moved it down to our home port via the ICW (224 miles). On the trip, we found some things that were not fixed and some areas of concern.

We have a port engine over heating problem at idle, not at speed.

We have some gauge issues with the upper helm vs the lower helm.

We had to change the stbd side fuel filter twice during the trip.

BUT...

Our main concern is the listed speeds in the boat specs vs. the actuals. The boat specs at 17k at cruise and 26k at top speed. However, the most we could get out of the boat was 16k. We could get it to cruise, trimmed up, at 13k (around 3100rpm).

What could be the problem(s)? In a survey back from 2003, I see the previous-previous owner ran it aground and had the props repaired or replaced. I suspect it's a prop problem, since the engines will rev up to 3700-4000rpm.
