1986 270 Amberjack with a single 454 big block

Isn't that too little power for that size boat with a 10' beam?

There is one here locally for sale in my area and owner is saying as far as he knows, this was the original engine configuration for that boat.

This is my first time ever encounter of a 270 amberjack with a single engine.
Equipment is 454 with in-line Velvet and TR outdrive.

I'm trying to find out if this configuration was an option for that boat back then.

Checked Sea Ray websites and the pdf does not display the optional power choices for that year boat.

Can anybody confirm this ?
