A friend of mine moved and basically gave me a 1986 Four Winns. It has a 1986 Mercruiser 170 fresh water cooled engine. The boat did not go in the water last year so it has been sitting. It seems to be in pretty good condition and he said it started last year. My question is can I start the engine in my driveway without other equipment? This is my first boat and I don't know a lot about it. My thinking is since its a closed cooling system it should be alright to try and start it.
