was out yesterday on the lake boat runs and drives perfect, but i got home and checked the stern drive dip stick on my 89 bayliner with a model 400 sterndrive and the gear oil is milky white! i also noticed oil on the side of the case. but couldnt locate where it came from any ideas on this? also how hard is the upper unit to remove? does it simply just unbolt or are there special tools needed also does the lower unit just unbot from the upper as well? i was thinking about removing it myself if needed and carrying it to a shop to save on the labor.
