Hello All! Nice to see so many enthiusiasts here!
I recently purchased a 1993 Regal 252 that needs a little TLC but seems to run and function great, however, as everyone does, i have a few questions.

First and foremost, the question everyone asks... where can i find a manual or wiring diagram, or anything on this model? I have tried contacting Regal with no success except for liquid capacities. Anyone with this craft that would be willing to make a copy would be excellent!

I have the boat out twice now and am running on battery 1 only - the voltage gauge is showing 11 volts and im thinking the battery is not charging. would it only charge in the all position?

Also, if anyone has any 'watch lists' for Regal boats of things to look for if the boat is sitting in the water, or common issues that have arisen would be great to know also...

Look forward to chatting with all! Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to the Regal family!

Re: the battery. Don't know your setup, but either the battery(s) are shot or the alternator is shot. Since you question which position to put the battery switch, I suspect that you (or someone else) has switched it while running. BIG NO-NO! If so, the alternator's diodes are dead! Good news is that any decent auto parts store can test both and advise you. I advise to run with the switch in 'ALL'.

Get high CCA batteries if that's what you need, and any $40-$60 wet cell battery will do. You'll need "post to thread" converters. However, if a new alternator is needed, it MUST be a marine alternator. Check BoatFix here 1st. You might consider replacing the alternator belt at the same time.

Another slight possibility is that your battery terminals (check both ends) are corroded, and need cleaning.

"Things to watch for" is far too broad. Please ask specific questions, and I'm sure they will be answered in short order.

Again, welcome.

sugilbert - thanks for the info. i will have to check the alternator because even with the boat running i am still only reading 11 volts. I have been boating for many years but mainly on larger craft but do know not to switch batteries while running. I'll just have to get a voltmeter and test both the battery and alt.

Thanks
