We have a Norcold DE 360 fridge/freezer which is no longer working on AC or DC. I've been told the parts are no longer available so we need to replace the unit. Any suggestions as to which model best fits as a replacement. This is a built in so it will be a painful job ($$) to remove & replace. We really don't want to use a repair service as we've already determined the parts & fridge are no longer available. Thanks for your help-love this website!

Norcold makes a direct replacement. Mine is original but I have seen many replaced. Your fridge should fit right out your normal doors once the refer and freezer door is removed.

Good to know before we spend the time and money on a different model. I assume you mean the DE-0061. I see on the internet that West Marine carries it so I may try them locally. Now we just have to find someone to remove & install the units. The hubby is an awesome captain-not mechanically inclined though. :-( Thanks for your response.

I would look for something else besides a Norcold, or should I say Nevercold. Last two boats ended up replacing Nevercold with Novacool. Exact replacement on my 97, 355MY. My $.02 worth.

Removing and replacing the refrig is a rather easy job. Just unscrew the screws on the front trim of the old one, and pull it out. Unplug the AC wire and snip the DC wires.

Haul it off the boat and carry the new one in. Plug in the AC into the outlet, and hook up the two DC wires. Slide it into place and then screw it in on the face flange.

Voila!!! you have a new fridge!!

consider buying a smallish household reefer and adding an inverter. It will probably be cheaper and the inverter may serve other purposes.

+1 for that route.

If you must get an AC/DC fridge, consider the Tundra. Quieter, less current draw and cools quicker.

I agree with all that's been said. We replaced our Nevercold with a Tundra 5 years ago and VERY happy with this fridge compared to the Nevercold. I've had 3 Nevercolds, and 2 out of 3 died on me. Up to that point they were noisy and drew more current than other fridges. Replacement is very easy. I would also consider the dorm fridge/ inverter option. Save money, and have the inverter for other uses . . .
