All,
I'm looking at a 97 Sundancer, with 5.7 EFI, Alpha ones, stored in the water. Original engines and drives.
I'm worried about the condition being stored in the water. What concerns should I have? How good are the Alpha Ones?
Other concerns with a boat like this?

Also, owner told me he only gets about 30kts cruise from this boat at ~3400 rpm, could it be this poor? (I get 35kts with my old 270, 7.4, 3400rpm)

Thanks

Larry,
The question can only be answered by hauling the boat and having the drives gone over by a mechanic. The drives are excellent but stored in the water in Florida could be more of a problem then it would be in other parts of the country.

Larry....what size sundancer....are you looking at ??

Larry, Are you looking for a super clean 1997 Sundancer? If you are, I am selling mine. It has been lift kept the last year, prior to that it was in high and dry since new. I am the second owner and she is in great shape, lots of new stuff, manifolds, risers, etc., too much to list here. You can contact me at led34233**msn.com for further details if you are intersted.
Thanks

Sorry, there is no way he is getting 30 knots at 3400 w/ 5.7's in that boat. Not enough power. IIRC, Mrs. Robinson gets ~26kts at 3400 w/ 7.4's. Granted V drives but still a lot more HP and torque. A closer comparison would be another friend with a 30 Regal w/ 7.4's and Bravo drives. 30 kts rb2@gr5t 3500 RPMs.

I'm thinking low to mid 20s and 35 top end.

My 2 cents.

I can't see where he specs the size of the boat? Our '94 300DA has twin 5.7's with Alpha 1's and cruise is about 3200, 29 knts (+/- for wind, current etc). This has held constant for about the past 6 years. Dunno LarryO's boat size, for a 330 DA I would say less. I think 5.7's are too small for that extra length and beam, but YMMV.
