Hello-
I am a newby. I have a 1998 502 Merc. with 170 hours on it. I started it for the first time this spring and noticed some steam coming from the manifold after it warmed up for a minute. After driving around for under 5 minutes at a slow pace, I felt the riser, it was very hot on the port side and the starboard side riser was very cool. The boat never went above 170. The impeller and water pump was just changed last summer. I also noticed that there was no water coming from the port side exhaust and there was from the starboard side. I am trying to figure this one out. I am thinking along the lines of a clogged riser, since the engine is not overheating and it is only hot on the port side.
