If you are referring to the Merc 6.2, you will be fine. It produces 320 HP. It is a high reving engine meant to cruise around 38 - 4100 RPM's. Accordingly it will be noisier than the 7.4. However if the engine room is properly insulated you will be OK. The 6.2 weighs 202+ pounds less than the 7.4. Better fuel economy and you are not hauling around the = of another human in the boat.
