Where is the breaker from the battery charger to the generator. This happened last year, but my mechanic did not tell me where it was. Of course he is no longer empolyed either. Please help.

I did, not there. I was told it was down in the engine compartment. I have looked everywhere...if someone didn't reset last year, I wouldn't believe it was there.

i don't have the same carver as you but mine in under/in the bottom step to the salon. Are you sure the battery switch is on? - i learned that one the hard way.

The battery breaker to our generator is located in the breaker panel where all the other breakers are located. This breaker would isolate the generator from the battery but not the battery from the charger. I don't know of any breaker on our boat that would isolate the battery from the charger but since the charger is powered by 110 volt this would be the breaker I would throw to kill the voltage to the battery from the charger.
I believe the switch under the last step into the salon only controls which batteries are used and while it would dictate which battery would receive charge from the engines alternator it would not have anything to do with the 110 V powered charger as it is on all the time as long as you have a 110V source feeding it.

According to Carver, "They changed the location from the breaker panel in the aft cabin to an inline fuse. The fuse is near the on/off switch to the genset." FYI

For what it's worth I have an inline fuse for the same purpose in my engine room that just looks like a small red button on the forward firewall just next to the battery charger. Look around down there for a small box with a small red button that has a number on the front.
