Wow...........I'm getting old. Never heard of half those people Don!!!

June 16 Saturday Opie & Anthony

WOO HOO, I'll be there!!!!

There are a few acts this year I would go see if it were free and a non boating day….

Back in the wife’s and my radio days… last year, :-( at Infinity/CBS and Westwood One, we could most of the time get tickets at JB we wanted for free or cheep with very good seats, but a boating overnighter always seemed to outweigh any concert. About 8-10 years ago, we barely missed any good concert at Jones beach. Before they built the high rise extension almost any seat was a good one.

Dave,
You should put this schedule in your sticky.
Barb, me too :)

Funny story,
When I was around 18 or 19 there was a bar in Bellmore town where the Stray Cats use to play before they were famous. I was more into the discos at the time but would visit this bar once in a while. I remember on night (when the Stray Cats were playing)I said to my friend, "this band sucks, they won't be around very long", Gees, was I wrong.

Walter

Walt,
What was name of the bar?? Only one i know is mulchay's ( wantagh )

Rob

...... Mulchay's ??????

Wasn't that the " rub & tug " place ??

Walter, any pictures of you in your "disco" suit??? We'd all LOVE to see them!

Walter, the Stray Cats were from my neighborhood.........used to frequent the deli around the corner from me on Forest Avenue! Who knew they'd become famous!

Didn’t Brian Setzler break to form an orchestra or some jazzy band ?

I graduated high school in Massapequa with Brian Setzer and lived behing one of the other stray cats.

Used to watch them play in garages!

Rob,
I don't remember the name of the bar, It was the last strip store(north) on Bedford ave, next to oak street.

Hogan,

Those pictures have been destroyed, PS. all you could see in those pictures was a girls head and my pants. :)

the name of the bar was the diamond club in the town of bellmore...that was a long time ago..

Barbara,
Are you anywhere near Mohawk Drive? I have a whole family of cousins who live there. When you mentioned "Forest Ave." it rang a bell. We were also looking at houses nearby before we moved here. There was a huge spanish looking colonial at the end of one of the canals. Really different. It needed tons of work. We made an offer and the owner took the house off of the market. I guess he didn't want to downgrade the neighborhood with us north shore types! Those were the days we found Runyons. After a few drinks, we had no idea what we were buying.

Mike,

It's time to get with it.. O&A blow.....Old news.. NOT FUNNY ANYMORE!!!

You need to buck up and get SIRIUS

Leigh, who would I want to listen to that's on Sirius? Howard??? His act is old, tired and boring. I can't stand Robin's incessant cackling and her sucking up to him.

I'll stick with terrestial radio.

Duck, not sure where Mohawk is. We're down in the Florence Beach area, Massapequa Shores..........the poorest Shores! :)
Where are you on the North Shore?

Reggae, Rock, Jazz... anything uninterrupted.... and get it on the boat anywhere, anytime....

Leigh, I've got every CD we own (thousands of songs)on my Ipod which plays through my radio.
