2007 Upper Chesapeake BoaterEd Rendezvous

Sounds like a good time....hopefully I can make it next year. Happened to be at Still Pond in the late afternoon on Saturday...hit alot of traffic on the way down from NJ (trailering). Looking forward to the pics.

For all that were not there, I was glad to hand off "the missing the swim platform reigns" to Steve [B)].
Make sure you sign up early for the next outing as space is limited and more then 6 boats is a crowed ... :D

Hey Steve, who is this [:-angel]?

Dominic - Thanks again for the first-rate steak. Hope you found the "payment" Sunday morning after we had to leave...

Chuck,

Diane's wine was greatly appreciated. We had tons of fun. We HAD to stay and force the kids to watch TV to get some additional sleep. They were up around 6. Then I forced my teenagers to get the boat ready to leave and ended up doing it all by myself [:-banghead]

Hey all... Guess I'll have to take the 'inadvertant plunge' award from Dominic.

Tough weekend for me, and now into the week. I'm now nursing a viral infection in my throat.
This, of course, after being laid up all Sunday with the stomach bug that I must've picked up while at
work last week. ARRRGGGHHH!!! I spent almost 24 hours in bed after dying at 6 on Saturday, was up for
about 4 hours, then slept for another 14. I'm hoping to get back to work tomorrow, but I'm not sure yet,
as things are still very painful.

Thanks to everyone who made it out...

We'll catch ya' next time around!

Hi all,

First, I'd like to thank Steve and Carolyn for their kind hospitality, both on and off the boat. Steve, I hope you're feeling better; missed you for the evening. Also, it was great meeting Chuck (C_Spray) and Diane; Dominic (Big Bliss), Jackie and "crew," and their marvelous steaks; seeing Kurt (Mixman) again, and meeting Kristin. And of course Craig, who was flying solo, and Vince who joined us for the evening. Saturday was a great day, both weather-wise and company-wise. Thanks for the invite, and I look forward to next year.

As Kurt and Dominic may remember, I took a spill on Big Bliss' swim deck and limped around for a bit (didn't fall overboard, although I DID lose my beer over the side). Well, after the sun went down and I got a dingy ride back to shore, the "sore spot" started acting up, and kept me awake most of the night. Drove back to Jersey on Sunday, then Monday I went to the Dr. to get checked out, and was given a week off from work! Bruised left kidney, bruised spleen and whacked the bottom two ribs on left side. Didn't hurt all that much at the time, but later on - WOW! I guess that's the price of getting old, you don't bounce as well as you once did. But no complaints, I thoroughly enjoyed the day, and if I should be invited again, would certainly consider coming.

As fate would have it, Bos'un arrived at my house promptly at 5 PM on Monday afternoon! So I do have him, although he didn't arrive in time for me to bring to the raftup. The admiral is going to pick up a few trinkets from the Jersey shore and Chesapeake area, to send along with him to the next RO who wants him. He has accumulated quite a little wardrobe in the past year or so.

Update - I wound up with 2 broken ribs (bottom two on left hand side) - one was broken in two places, the other in one place. Took a nuclear bone scan to find them. After a couple of weeks, it wasn't getting any better, so I went back to the Dr. and told him that they had to have missed something, so he ordered this super-duper test - similar to a CAT scan. But everything's pretty well knitted back together and I've been to work for a couple weeks now. A little soft tissue pain still, but overall, almost good as new. Dominic and Jacky, don't be concerned, there aren't any lawyers in my family [:-bouncy]. Unlike some, I'd never even think about trying to make someone else pay for my own foolish clumsiness.

Darn those diesel engines and their slippery slime! Clean burning 4-stroke outboards for me. You won't find anything slippery on my swim platform...wait, I don't have one!

We're all glad you're better. You have to save your strength up for next year!

I missed this one, but you can count on us for the 2008 one, we will be more than glad to participate.

Whatever happened to Steve York? Did he drop off the face of the earth? Haven't seen a posting from Steve in several months. Steve are ya out there? Knock 3 times on the ceiling or something and let us know if you're still with us.

Wow, no knock from Steve at all?

Vic, why don't you send him an email via his profile. It's possible he's so depressed by winter he hasn't gotten out of bed for weeks to check this forum.

Time for 2008, count me in for this year. as soon as the ice melts I'm in.
