I am looking at a Sea Ray 220 Sundeck for my first boat. I am looking for some opinions on the boat. I didn't think of a deck boat in my search until the sales guy showed me. The bow is bigger then a traditional bowrider, there is a head for the ladies, pleanty of storage from what I can see and a small entertainment center. According to the specs, the deadrise is different then a traditonal deck boat.(better??) I guess my main concern is handling, rough waters, slow speed etc. Any input will be appretiated.
Thank you

I have owned two Sundecks and liked them both. The 220 Sundeck is a good riding boat and will handle chop well. It's one of the most comfortable boats in Sea Ray's sport boat line up and is always in demand. I recommend you get the Bravo 3 outdrive if you can. You will get on plane faster and find it handles better around the docks as well. The 5.0 motor is perfectly adequate for the boat but if you can afford to upgrade the engine then do it. Make sure you get bow filler cushions with it as that option is really nice to turn the whole bow into a big sunpad. If you are going to do open water boating, be carefull you aren't out of site of land and watch the weather.

DS,
Thank you, I will be out in open water but never to far from land. Is there much of difference in speed between the two? I was looking at a used one at Marine Max where the owner installed trim tabs. Is that nessasary, is it tough to come up on plane? I have some big friends and don't want to playing the move to front/back game.
