I have a 24 Sea Ray with a 7.4 and a Bravo 1. I have neighbors with the same boat. They tell me it does 50MPH. I get about 40MPH with my GPS reading. Last night I go to a resturant on the water and run into another 24 owner. He also tell me he get 50MPH. Does anyone have any idea what the boat was meant to get when new? I can't find the specs. When they say they get 50 mph, is that by GPS or a speedometer?

What is your WOT RPM?
How much junk has accumulated on your boat since you have had it? Weight kills speed.

I am going by GPS. they are going by speedometer. As for weight, I have nothing in the boat. We live on the water, so when we go for a ride, maybe we bring one small cooler. Thanks for the reply. Steve

Hi Walt, this poor guy broke down two times on the way home from Jersey. Something happened with the electronic shifters. After about 2 hours in the ocean, one engine would not rev above an idle. He was towed back in and had someone service it. They reprogramed the shifter code and it seemed to work. 2 more hours same thing happened. Towed back again. Not sure what happened at that point. I think I would have had them tow me to long island instead of all the way back to Shark River Inlet, NJ. He lives in Conn. Hope he got everything worked out. Nice to talk to you Walt, Steve
