If the pickup tube is broken off, it would just roll around in the bottom the of tank and not hurt anything. I pulled the pickup out of my tank on a 1999 SeaRay 185BR last year, It didn't come out easy, I had to finesse it a little, the fit for the tube is tight - maybe that is the case with yours, I can't think of any reason the fitting would not come out. If you don't have an inspection port in the tank, maybe remove the sending until to get a better view inside as to what is going on, and remove the broken pickup tube. Worst case, I would think you could cut a new hole and put the new pickup tube in that way - just plug the fitting of the old one. I've never cut a whole for something like this in a fuel tank, but I would think it is possible. But I really think you just need to work the fitting a little to get it out. While you are at all this, I would replace your fuel lines, just went through problems on mine, ethanol did a number of the fuel lines after 13yrs.
