I'm shopping a couple of 2765's with twins, 2002 thru 2004 model years, moving up from a '96 Cierra 2355 with intent to continue trailering (upper midwest). I would really appreciate advice from anyone having made a similar transition. Also, website or other source of good technical spec's / data on the 02-04 2765's. Thank you.

With twins you don't get a genny unless you use a portable. You need a pretty substantial tow vehicle. What are you planing on using?

rommer is right on the 2765/2660 model, there is no room to mount a genny so you have to buy a portable genny. The boat is easy to tow but they are LARGE. I towed my for 2 days back from Tampa when I bought it and that was enough towing for me. The 2765/2660 is a great model boat, the beam is narrow for the length of the boat, I really wish I had another 2 feet of beam to make the load more stable.

The twins are a great choice, esp. if they are Volvo.,

The 2765 is a great boat. I have a 2006 with single 8.1 Volvo and the generator. Great power, speed, comfort etc. An extra foot of beam would be great but the boat has alot of room as is. I towed mine with a 1999 F250 V10 4x4 600 + miles from West Point Lake, GA to St. Simons Island GA the week of the 4th and stayed a week. The boat towed fine but it is heavy! Be sure you have enough truck to pull and stop the load. It was the first time in the ocean and it took some getting used to the tide and current when docking. It was a great trip though without mishap. Good luck in your search. You might consider the single as it allows for the genny and handles well with the duo prop.

I too have a 2660 sinlge engine 7.4. As I purchased it with a trailer it has served me well. The first thing on my purchase list not so much for me but for guests that would like to take the helm is the ATC control. Guests moving around and such keeps me busy on the tabs! I would be willing to be the twins are much better as the engine weight is spread out from the centerline. Not only that but with some water in the tank and guests in seats the boat tends to list abit till on plane.
However for my needs this is a very well made and overall great package that I would recomend to anyone!

Totally agree with Frank---get the Bennett ATC! The boat is a bit top heavy (due to 8' 6" beam). Best add-on I've added to mine.

This is my first post, I became a member of the old forum it seemed moments before it was shut down.

I bought a new twin 2765 last year and successfully had an engineer mount a Westerbeke genset in her. I bought the 2765 specifically because it was a trailerable twin but was always disappointed about the lack of genset. Problem solved. It runs all equipment on board including a/c and microwave. I am actually selling her because we bought a much larger boat after moving to the ocean(I should have my head examined) perhaps you may be interested. She also has a galvanized custom build trailer. Send me a message if you are and I can give you all the specs.
