I have a 3.7L Mercruiser 4 cyl. engine that I rebuilt the top part of the engine last year and it ran beautifully for about 10 hours. Now it still idles very nice but when I accelerate, there is a knocking sound. When I return to idle the knock is gone and it idles very nice again. I cannot isolate this sound and I could use some suggestions on where the problem may lie. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, heebe.
