A first-timer here -- the owner dialogue is impressive.

I am very near making an offer on a 2003 300 Sundancer and would appreciate comments from anyone who has thoughts on this model. The boat in question has twin 5.0L Bravo II stern drives and is in impressive shape with very low total hours.

Are there any specific concerns or things to look for? Anything I should ask the surveyor to pay particular attention to?

I look forward to any and all comments and thoughts.

We had the same boat with 6.2 liter Mercruisers. Ran great, only got 1.2 mpg on long trips. Boat flew but these were the biggest engines available and had Bravo IIIs. Friend had Bravo IIIs with 5.0 liter Mercruisers and it ran amazingly well. Even with a heavy load. Don't know but maybe Rob's boat had just a little too much prop pitch. It makes a whale of a difference. I could hit 4800 rpms with my 6.2 but it is not really the type of boat you run wide open very often.

If you are worried about corrosion move it to Watergate on Clear Lake and put it on a hoist. I presume they still do that there but our boat is in Southshore.
