While winterizing I took apart the mid berth shelving to follow all lines and inspect all areas thouroughly as it was my first time winterizing this boat. While doing this I noticed I have water tanks on each side. At the end of the season i drained the water down and I filled my tanks up. At this time I noticed the boat wanted a lot more tab than usual. Have you encountered this same situation with full fuel and no water? Please keep in mind I typically keep the boat at 1/2 tanks and water about the same. I just did not realize how much water the boat actually holds! On top of that I did not get a chance to get back out after my last ride to the fuel dock, there fore I did not get a chance to add the water to the tank to see if it would be a noticeable difference.

Any other quirks, good or bad that you may have noticed on these boats?

I notice this boat rides a lot more choppy than our 34' Silverton did, but its a trade off compaired to what the boat offers us.

Oh yea, and winterizing is not the easiest for a 210 lb man!

Other than that I LOVE this boat!!!!

I have never noticed that on my 3227, but then again I don't think that I have ever had the gas tanks full and the water tanks empty. Mine will get up and go regardless of the load situation.

What you described does make sense because the fuel tanks are in the rear of the boat and the water tanks are mid cabin so it would take more trim tab to get it out of the water if the fuel is full.

I did have my fuel tanks signifactly out of balance once and could see the boat listing to one side.

I have had the generator out since May it didn't matter if I filled the water or not. I put the generator back in a couple of weeks ago and needed alot of tab to get up on plane. I filled the water tanks and it came up and road much better. My genny weighs in at 300 pounds.

The water tanks (90 gallons = 752 pounds) must be far enough forward to hold the bow down.

The boat has no issue getting on plane. I just noticed the difference of the ride. I assumed all was due to the odd balance! I just wanted to see if others had experienced the same.

Thank you for the input fellas.

since I am done with my 3 year refit what better place to show it off than a thread about the 3227

Nice job! I like where you put the T.V. Did you remove the downstairs station?
Jim

I never had the lower helm, no need in Florida. I moved all of the electrical panels forward and put it behind a door.

Where the blind custom made or did you buy them premade somewhere? I have curtains that need replacing but your set up looks better. Also what did you use to cover the back sliding door?
Jim

I ordered the blinds from Lowes, the curtains over the back doors are original.

What material did you use to construct your entertainment center?

Do you have more pics?

I am thinking this is what i will do this winter on my boat!

I used cabinet grade plywood and covered it with Teak veneer. I will post some more pictures tonight. I have changed it a little since these.

I would love to see the project pictures!

Looks great!
