Hi guys,

you have all been so helpful do far. what are your opionions on the 5.7 inboards. I have seen a few 330's that have the 5.7 vs the standard 7.4. Is there a major difference in performance or engine life?

thanks

Larry

I would not personally choose 5.7s in a 330 DA. Not enough torque. Look at the 330s with 7.4s.

I have a 90 310/330 with the 5.7's.(For Sale)

When I purchased the boat it was a slug.
After a change of prop's to four blades
the boat is a completly different boat.
Pre prop change had trouble getting on plane with full fuel and four people on board. Now will easily get on plane with full tanks and 10 plus people aboard. Have no problem cruising at 3200 RPM at 24 MPH

What year are the 5.7's? Newer 5.7 engines produce as much HP as an older 7.4. Saint Max is equipped with 6.2 Horizons. The 6.2 is a stroked 5.7. She does just fine and burns about 6 GPH less than a comparable 7.4. I will give this to the 7.4 though, they cruise at a lower RPM which means less noise from the ER. This problem is solved with more insulation.

Agree with the 4 blade props.

HTH.
