Hi guys, I have a problem that I cant quite figure out. I had replaced my impeller prior to sending the boat off to the shop (another story!) and prior to sending it off I forgot and started ir one last time....without water!! Well anyway I knew I screwed up the impeller and sent it off anyway.

I got it back today and went to change the impeller and after I was done I hooked up the water (with full water pressure / good flow) and couldn't get water to flow from the exhaust while it was running. I only let it run for about 30 seconds and then shut it off. I have heard that if you don't see water within 30 sec. SHUT IT DOWN.

Next I pulled everything back off and inspected the pump and all seems well. my question is this: can you install the impeller backwards and will it correct itself so the vanes bend the correct way? it seemed that it did when I spun it by hand and looked inside.

Also, What hose connects to the top of the pump and which connects to the bottom? I thought I hooked everything up the way it came apart but I could be wrong. which port on the pump is suction and which is output to engine for cooling? Do you have to prime hte pump to create suction?

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to fill in a little background to get started.

Thanks, Eric
