350 mariner engine size

[wade a minute]

Looking at 2001 350 Mariner with 6.2 L engines. I'm concerned whether under powered for this size and weight boat. Your opinions are appreciated.

I've got the 5.7 Mercuiser MPI 300 HP engines in mine, coupled with the V-drive it pulls like a tractor out of the hole and hits its top speed of 21 mph very quickly - yes, mine is underpropped.

The 6.2's will be adequate. The new models are using (at least the ones we've been getting) the Crusader 6.0L rated at 375hp each. Yes, it moves quite well with those engines!

We had the 6.2's it flew out of the water, but the cruising speed was slow in my opinion. Although, I'm sure I coulda messed with the props to change that a little.
