I have been looking at buying 350 Mariner, the one my wife likes has 350 mpi horizon mercs sml blocks are these enough to power this boat or will be underpowered?
It won't be fast, but it won't be a trawler either. With those engines, you'll cruise at 20 to 22 mph and top out at approx. 30 to 32. Big block don't really add that much and burn alot more fuel.
At cruise with MPI motors you may only burn 8-10 GPH per motor vs 12- 15 GPH with carbed Big Blocks. I post this as second hand knowledge but don't think I'm too far off base.

I've got a '99 350 Mariner with twin MPI 350 Mercruiser Mags - it gets up and goes rather to it's top end quickly....so far the top speed (via gps) is 22 MPH....yes, it's underpropped....someday I will address that. Speed isn't my game.
