I have been lusting over this boat for a while and I am seriously thinking about trading my 280DA in for it. How do you guys like yours? We will be spending time sleeping on it. There's me, my wife and two kids.

Best boat I've ever owned!

We love ours.

What would you like to know?

I do not have one of the models you are interested in, However, I just took dellivery of a 4460. I also got a chance to visit the plant in Orlando and cant tell you how impressed i was with the whole facility. The average worker at the plant has been there for 11 yrs. The skill level is quite high and the Co. takes care of their employees. That equals a quality product. IMHO I dont think you can go wrong.

Yes I would also agree with Rommer, best best two boats I have owned . We own a 2001 3780 and love the boat so much we up grade to 2006 4080 with Yann. In my opinion Regal hit a home run with this model in comfort and practicabilty . I would also agree with Van we experience the same with the facility and feel the same way . Good Luck with your decision and ask away glad to help .

I am also interested in this model.
Anyone knows of a good clean one with diesels on the East Coast or close to NY, please let me know.
Thanks.

Would also appreciate it if current owners could post some stats with their different engine setups, gas or diesel,
cruise, max, GPH, etc. Trying to decide best setup for me. I like my speed, but I also like my economy! I know, those two don't go together, hence the decision needs to be made!

We bought a 2003 3880 with Cummins 375 hp engines in New Jersey in May
of 2007. Plunked her in the water and sailed 660 miles to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2 and 1/2 days averaging 1.2 miles per gallon. Not a hint of problem. We have owned a Silverton and a Bayliner, both of which we enjoyed but we absolutely LOVE this boat. She is loaded with most available options and after 5 years, everything still works as it should. I also saw the Regal plant this march and was very impressed with their operation. If you are in the market for 38-40 ft boat you should definately look at the Regals.

I purchased my 3780 new in 2001 and have logged nearly 600hrs so far. I have twin Merc Horizon 380hp and the boat will cruise at 22mph running at 3200rpm with fuel burn around 25gph. Top end is around 37mph and the boat jumps on plane quickly. I have also driven the newer models with 8.1L engines and the increased power is a plus.
There are not alot of 37ft boats that have a 2 stateroom floor plan and offer as much room for storage and living space as this model.
As stated above, Regal does a great job with quality/ fit and finish. I use my boat as a live aboard during the summer months for my family of 3 and the only malfunction we have had was with the salon a/c unit.
Another plus is that I installed a bow thruster in 2002 which assists docking in windy situations.

We love ours too and will be taking it on the Great Loop starting in Sep. We'll start from the Knoxville area and head down the TN River to the TenTom and south to Mobile as the first leg. The 4080 is a fantastic boat for a journey like this with plenty of room both inside and out. We have gas engines with a bow thruster and it handles very well in tight spaces.

Good luck with your purchase. You'll be glad you did. We toured the factory as well and were very impressed with everything, from the mission statement to the dedicated people. Definitely a quality minded organization.

Does anyone have some numbers for a 2002 3880 with Twin Volvo 8.1 420hp?
Cruisr, Top, GPH.
Thanks!

Using Regals product information guide for Merc Horizons 420hp, the top end for the 8.1L engine is around 38mph with a cruise speed of 26mph running at 3500rpm. They did not publish numbers for the Volvo that year, but in 2003 the numbers are 38mph top end with 28mph running 3500rpm. The only change made in 2003 was the prop which changed from 22 x 22 to 22 x 23.
I also changed my prop to a 22 x 23 in 2002 which helped cruise speed.
