The swim ladder on our 1999 38' Sangego is a chore to climb up. I notice some santego's have a grab bar on the transom. Has anyone added one of these? Has anyone replaced the factory ladder with an easier ladder to climb up?

My 1994 has a grab bar and it's still difficult to climb out. I just purchased a Windline 3 step under platform ladder. It slides out on a bracket.

Now I need to get the old one off and install the new one. The old screws will not budge, even with an impact wrench, maybe Carver put them in with 5200! If I get the new one in I will let you know (in June) how we like it.

We have a grab bar and it works great, but on a 2767 Santego, I'm betting your swim platform is a wee bit wider. I think Stan is right on with getting a better ladder.

My 91 Santego has a grab bar on the transom, it would be a bear to get out of the water without it.

Stan, how did your new ladder work for you. We have the same problem and want to repalce the ladder.

Thanks

Ron

Ron,

Ladder is good, still cannot step on top step because the ladder is too far under the boat. We have grab rail and need to put one knee on the platform to get up. I think Windline makes another model that comed out from under the platform at an angle, that might work better.

Ron, what model ladder did you get, where can you purchase.
is it in the way on top of platform. i have carver aft that has same problem. ladder to far
under platform.
thanks

my 2767 has a grab bar but it is hard to reach so I attached an old two handle ski rope to the grab rail. Before I get in the water I lay the two handles on the swim platform and use them to pull myself up until I can reach the grab bar.

ronpat;

You may want to delete that link to another site that is offering a product that BoatFix sells...
Kinda against the Forum rules...

Carver2557 those ladders at boatfix to not fold up and set on top of the swim platform. I did look at theirs.

TWSLIP, email me your email address and I will sned you all of the information and a picture of the ladder mounted on my swim platform. It drops down in the water and then folds up on top of the swim platform

would like to see pictures.
thanks
