Thinking about thie 48 motor yacht as my next boat. Anything to share on this boat? Any design changes in the differ years? I could not see much from the available boats on Yachtworld.

They typically are very slow to sell due to A) odd looking lines that don't appeal to some people and B) great cool weather boats not not good hot weather boats. The ones down here in the south have to run their generators 24/7 to keep them cool due to the enclosed glass- same goes for the popular sports coupe models. I like the layouts of them though personally and in your climate the glass enclosure would most likely not be a bad thing and could help extend your season. I love the enclosed helm in our 45' pilothouse but I also really like the flybridge too.

Thanks Woodsong. Agree the lines could be polarizing. I happen to love the look. It could pose a problem when i start looking for #9. 
Interesting on the heat issue as I never thought of that. I suppose that could be a positive up north.
Abalmuth- thank you as well. I have not seen any of the boats you mentioned for sale on Long Island on any of the web sites. Are they selling them by owner? The only ones I have seen are down south.

That boat is on my short list. Unfortunately, money is also on my short list!
Ask for a fellow named Frank Webster. I believe he delivered a couple. IIRC, he said it was not just a twist on an existing 48 hull. It is an entirely different hull and he was not at all impressed with it in snotty weather. Food for thought.
Personally, I like the boat. I've been on the 39. I like the enclosed bridge. I tire of 11 panels of canvas on my 33. I notice more and more makers are going to windshields to the hardtop with a couple of panels of canvas for covering after the day. Easy peasy.
The bridge has HVAC. I can't say how strong it is.

I like motor yachts and do like the 39 alot.
But there are 2 things about them.
How do you dock them?
Seems there is no clear view? At least with sedan bridge I can look down the stairs.
Second thing for me is the salon.
I really like looking out the salon door and seeing life.
Motor yacht is getting back to an express where your going down into a cave.
Just my opinion. But I do like the 39 look and design. Not familiar with 48.

Looked ate the 48 sedan bridge today. This seems to fit my life style better. I see they switched it to a 50 in I believe 05. Is there any design changes?
