My Bayliner 3988 was originally built with two 50 /125 inlets. The previous owner replaced the inlets with 30 / 125 probably for convenience when cruisng. I have now installed a single 50/125/250 inlet and carry several splitters as the 50/125/250 is the most common followed by the twin 30 amps setups. Nothing on my boat is 220 volt and I don't use a lot of power but when I heat in the winter the cord remains cool and
I have no fears of an inlet burning up due to an overload.
All wiring and breakers to the panel are sized to 50 amp and 6 ga. wire so all is well.
