Well, the wife and I finally did it! We put down a deposit on a 5260 Saturday. We can't wait, but know it will be close to two years before we see it unless a bunch of the other deposit holders drop out..<g>.

Now, we just have to figure out what options to get. That will be the fun part besides checking one out on the water later this winter.

Congrats Mark!

Not sure I could stand a 2 year wait for a new boat. Best of luck.

It will be hard, but hey, what can you do? It gives us time to make sure of exactly what we want for options, and maybe there will be something offered then, that isn't now, that we would want.

Maybe the engine offerings will be expanded...the Zeus from Mercury also looks interesting...

Sounds awesome - congrats!

Did you look at any of the other large express cruisers or did you go straight to the Regal?

I have been looking around, but for the money, the Regal is tops. The Savannah 54 looks very nice, but is quite a bit more money and same with the Cruisers and SeaRay stuff.

We have also gotten very good support from our dealer and Regal since taking delivery of our 4460 last year, so that figured into it as well. Everyone at Regal has been top notch to deal with. They answer their phones and will take the time to answer whatever questions we have had. Not everyone does that.

Mark - you are doing better on the support side than I am. We have had two local Regal dealers shut down in the past 2 years here and I have had to go to a SR dealer for service :-(

Wow, that must hurt..<g>. My dealer is 150 miles away and they have been great. I have called them on a Saturday afternoon with a problem and they have been here by 10:00 AM Monday to deal with it. Same with anytime I have called Regal. They have been most responsive to whatever I have had questions about. Hopefully we won't need to make many calls on the 5260 when we get that!

Would be interested in hearing about other regal dealers. My dealer in Northern Virginia has had major personnel problems.

I am pleased with the service from ours here in Sarasota. And I am seeing alot of Regals here on the water. He said he is second locally only to SR.

Yeah - our local Regal Dealer (Xtreme Marine) was supposedly the #4 Regal dealer in the country in volume. But when you are unprofessional and have extremely poor service, it won't matter how many boats you sell - you won't be in business.

joeregal -- after seeing your post, I can't help but jump in. I would say the Northern Virginia Regal dealer has personnel problems and personal problems. I've never been treated so rude...by the owner. Amazing how they stay in business.

Marc Congratulations on the new boat. I as well don't think I could wait 2 years for delivery. Hope the time passes quickley for you and keep us posted.

JoeRegal, that is one reason we have bought our last two from the dealer at the top of the bay. Any problems have been addressed quickly and without any conflicts. If there is a problem, I make a phone call and the problem gets solved. Can't say enough good things about them.

Interesting introductory write-up on the 5260 in Boattest.com. 46 sold already!

Joe and Debby: Interested in your Dealer. Need contact information. Thinking of moving my boat up in that direction.
