Howdy,

Anyone have a suggestion on how I might go about replacing this screen, aside from having one made? Are there any bone-yards around?
Thanks.

With the low production number of the Santegos, your chances are very slim of finding that part in a bone yard. Hatches and screens used by Carver were typically Gray, Taylor or Bomar brands. You may have luck researching their website to see if replacement screens are available or a size close will work.

Stars,
Lewmar, Bomar and ABI precision lighting all make replacement screens.
I replace my screen in the dinette of my Carver with a screen and shad combo. We love it, is is so easy now to open the hatch and just pull the screen closed.

Thanks guys. I probably should have been more specific. I am referring to the the sliding door screen. It's about 30" x 70".

PJ - shade is awesome.

I have a 32 Mariner with a sliding screen door as well. Are you looking to replace the frame or just the screen itself? I just had the screens replaced a few months ago and was pretty painless.

My doors came off fairly easy. I have little roller wheels on the top and bottom that a little screw controls the tension on. Basically loosened that up, lift up on the door and pop out. May need to use a screwdriver to lift the wheels out of the track a little on the bottom.

Then I took the screen doors to my local ACE Hardware store and they put in new screens. I think I spent 50 bucks on the 2 doors.

If the frame needs fixing, maybe a windows place can help with repair or custom make something.
