Lights on the dash say the vdrive is low. It is not. The transmission is full also on both sides. Is this only when transmission is in gear or?? What do I look for here? Just started the boat on the trailer.
Voltmeters on dash. One shows 14 when running the other shows 12+. How do the alternators work? Do they both charge at the same time? How are they regulated?
 
the vdrive warning lights come on when the engines are first started. there's a warning sticker saying something about them being on when engine temps are low. make sure you've got full fluid levels not only in the transmissions, but in the v-drives as well. v-drives are accesed through pull up hatches in cabin sole. transmissions thru the flip-up top step to cockpit (at least on my boat). starboard transmission is tuff to check unless you've got really long arms.

alternators are not synched to my knowledge.
 
My tranny lights stay on until the boat is in gear and I get it over 1000 RPM.

Alternators are independant but may show slightly different reading on the volt meters a low RPM because of voltage regulator output. Not a big deal as long as they come up to normal as RPM's increase. At least that's what I've found to be the case with my boat.

I have all the fluids up to level. I have checked the v drive and the transmissions. I did not put it in gear as it is on a trailer and the shafts are dry. Didn't want to mess up the strut bearings. This is something that is only a concern when the boat is in gear and the lights remain on? I will have the output of the starboard alternator checked after launch.

Another issue is the front and rear bilge. Are they separate--not connected. Looks like the front has no flow to the rear bilge.
