98 25 sundancer hot water tank?

Alternatively, do you really need hot water, compliments of the engine, when you're running?
We have found ours stays hot and warm for hours after leaving the slip, perhaps you could just bypass it and it would be one less thing to worry about?
We plan on doing just that, this coming season, since the genset will run, and really, we've never had a need for hot water while out for the day, of course we're back in the slip every night too...

No mention as to aux power. I do agree as to the need for waste heat hot water, however, haveing had it, it was great when going on the hook of my Regal prior to the aux (Honda 2000iu) heating the tank.

David, guess I missed that fact, that it is nice to have, especially early and late season around here (North) for the transom shower...
We've gone out many times in our previous smaller boats, with the all in one head, and showered on the transom, since the bath house was disgusting...
I will spare everyone the details, but was a nice experience a few times...uh...of course that was YEARS ago... well theres always this next season, right? : )

I believe you're going to need a new tank. If memory serves, the fittings are black on that tank and are part of the "exchanger" system of the tank and are not replacable. Hopefully the tank is easy to get out and back in. Replacement should be an easy job, if access is good.
The tank comes out easily. All I have to do is 4 screws and the electical wire. They are the black fittings. Should I replace it and just have shore power hot water or I bet it's nice to run the engine in the morning after a long night and take a nice hot shower while i'm anchored somewhere. They are about $200.00 for a new one.

I'd go for the new tank and hook up the hot water under way. If you don't want the hot water under way, you can disconnect that system and plug the hoses from the engine and your water heater will work normally
I was going to say new as well. They are good for about 5-6 years and then trouble particularly on anything that rides on top of the water v. through the water. There's a lot of vibration going on back there. I have to replace mine this winter.
