Hi all. Like many of you, I am concerned about the health of the Delta and raising awareness. I made a comment to a good friend, Dr. Norm Gri, who has been doing political comics his whole life, about my analogy of someone quietly sucking the life out of a paitent while a room full of doctors fight in vain. This is the result - what do you think? He is open to doing some changes, and then we can get it scanned properly and have it published??

Instead of the word "channel" on the hose, I would use "water bypass system", the euphemism for a peripheral canal!

Nice. But I think they guy should look more dried out with a pencil thin body, sunken cheeks and eyes popping out of his head. That would convey the idea of sickness much better.
 
Great ideas - we will make it a "group" poster!

I'm heading to Burning Man this weekend and won't be back for a week, so keep adding comments and I'll touch bases when I get back. I have been wanting to go to this thing for years, and my brother bought tickets to make SURE I went. It should be fun - 50,000 people in the middle of the desert for a week long art-party-???

I"m excied - never gone but heard lots of stories. I will give a full report when I get back.

Yea. The conditions are really tough on the gelcoat and/or bottom paint! But it is a great place to get that sandblasting job before replacing the bottom paint.......
 
You folks just reminded me of a terrible nightmare I had last night of running aground across a concrete sidewaly and patio area! The sounds of the hull grinding on the cement and the props scraping on the hard still resonates in my head!!

I love the cartoon. Is it possible to make it a group turning the valve including Gov Arnold and reps of Dept of Boats and Waterways, US Dept of Interior Bureau of Reclamation, Agriculture groups, etc?

Great job, Dr. Norm!!
 
Humor me. How does the b******s at Boat and Waterways fit in to the cartoon?
 
I guess 'cause they are part of the gov't? I'm not sure I agree with Kalan on that one.
 
It is BoatING and Waterways and it was a real question :-). As far as I know we have nothing to do with water exports (unless we have a hidden door I do not know about)and have a great deal invested in keeping the Delta healthy. Just my two cents and curious where the tie in was.
