Last month I purchased an '02 2855 Bayliner with Interlux ACT ablative paint on it. It's my understanding that you spend a little more on this paint because it slowly wears off, and prevents build-up. Given that the 2855 Bayliner can be underpowered, I also want to do everything possible to reduce drag. The previous owner used it lightly, so for the most part the paint looks good as new. When it rains the paint runs on my hands. Do I need to repaint this year, or am I suppose to go until the hull is coming through? Also, is it true that the anti-fouling protection is voided once the boat is out of the water for a long period of time? Lastly, is $465 to bottom paint this boat about right for this type of paint?
Thanks.
Thanks.
