my large Jabsco accumulator tank sprung a leask today; any use in trying to patch it?

JB Weld after you have taken the pressure off the system might buy you some time, but if it has rusted to the point where its leaking, its probably time to replace it. If the leak is in the diaphram, fahgettabouddit!!

I wouldn't bother. I'd go to Big Box and get an "expansion tank" for a water heater. Works better and costs less.

Thanks; that was my thought, too. Temporarily patched it with "Rescue Tape" for the rest of the weekend. Still leaks, but isn't spraying the ER.

It's pretty cheap. Patching it from the outside is unlikely to make a permanent repair and you can't really patch it from the inside. For the $65 or so that a new one costs, why not do it right the first time and replace it.

Might depend on the kind of leak. If it's one of the Jabsco models with the push-on quick-attach inlet and outlet ports, the hose washer inside can the ports get brittle and cause a leak at the port. If all you need is a new gasket, that's reasonably cheap and simple.
