Anyone using Jappesen C Map with Active Captain. We are thinking about switching one of the chart plotters from Navionics to C Map to have AC data available without using the I Pad. Any thoughts?

We run both Navionics and C-Map (and Lighthouse raster charts too). The AC data is nice to have, but in general find Navionics to have better data presentation.

For example, for a bridge near us in FL, Navionics shows clearances as expected. C-Map does not show it on the base map. You have to click on the AC icon to get this info.

I'd stick with the plotter that had the best presentation, and maybe upgrade it if AC was available on a later version of the hdwr if my pockets were deep enough.

I ve been a an avid user and fan of active captain pretty much since it started years ago but I don't really care to have it on my plotters. I find it much easier to have it on my iPad or iPhone so that if I need to look up data it doesn't interfere with navigation. Same with weather radar, I d rather have it on my phone or iPad instead of overlaying so it doesn't clutter and I don't have to constantly zoom in and out,

We use Plan2Nav with C-Map charts and AC on tablets; less clutter on the main plotter.
