Can I add a treatment system to an existing vacuflush system?
If yes, what is the recommended setup?
Space is not an issue.
Current holding tank location is above one head and below another
Thanks

Depends on which treatment system you want to add; they're all different.

Sorry for the late reply, not sure what system I need. Just would like something so we can stay out longer than a few days before needing to pump out.

Vic, I THINK I want to add a hold-n-treat to my vacuflush system. I remember when they first came out, it sounded like a good idea. I like the idea of being able to use a holding tank in a marina, even if legal to dump there and then run the system either at night or away from the marina. So, now they have been in the field for a little while, here are the questions:

1.) Would this be the best treatment system for a vacuflush? What else should I look at?

2.) What has been the field history of these things? Are they working as intended? Are there unforseen niggles that I should think about?

Vic, looks like purasan fresh water system is what I need, eliminating my holding tank. Can I retain the vacuflush commode? Do I need to add a macerator or can I keep the vaccuflush pump?

Hans, the fresh water Purasan system would be a good mate to your VacuFlush. It would be mounted within a six foot run of hose from your vacuum pump or vacuum generator. (You'll need Purasan model # PST1203). The only thing is that it wouldn't be an automatic system, you'd have to press the button on the Purasan wall panel to start the Purasan, then step on your pedal to flush the VacuFlush head. The Purasan would then do its thing for two minutes, then shut off. One thing to point out though, which may be a problem - you'll need about 2 feet of clear space about the top of the actual treatment unit, to mount the dispenser. It can be mounted higher, but not lower. there must be a minimum of 15" between the bottom of the dispenser and the top of the treatment unit. It doesn't have to be directly above the treatment unit however; it can be offset somewhat, if necessary.

Ghost, the Hold 'N Treat with a Purasan (Raritan part # 21SRP1512) would be your best choice. Same thing applies, re: 2 feet of clear space required above the top of the Purasan.

If you have any No Discharge Zones you might want to do a Hold-N-Treat/PuraSan system. I added one to my existing holding tank and the system works like a charm.
