Boat is '93 Crownline 250CR cruiser.
Ordered a Garmin Fish Finder 140 to install before launching. Went through the installation instructions and it has the transducer and power cord being run on the outside and not through the hull.
Not sure that I want a loose cord hanging out but am also afraid to drill a 1" hole in the back of the boat to run the cord through.
Has anyone installed this type of unit. I know you can't cut the cord to reduce the hole size you have to drill or it will avoid the warranty.
Should I not be afraid to drill away? Do I want the hole to be above the waterline?
