This question hopefully will have an easy answer. We bought a 1994 Carver 350 Aft Cabin last summer. Loving it! However, I can't get the two lights in the overhead of the aft deck to turn on. I've tried all switches and breakers that I can find and I have checked/replaced bulbs. No luck. I'm hoping it is not a disconnect somewhere deep in the wiring. Which switch and/or circuit breaker should do it?

Thanks in advance. (I'm new to the forum and really appreciate all the great information I'm finding here.)

Inside the rope locker next to the cabin entry door is a switch or two. If I'm not mistaken, one of these will turn on the hardtop lights

RHock: I had a similar problem with the ceiling lights in a 356 Carver. One light would not work when I turned the switch on in the locker. We did some work on the radar arch requiring standing on the aft deck roof. After walking on the aft deck roof, the light went back on.....not sure why. I also found out that if I tapped the ceiling near the light, it would also make the light go on??? Again, not sure why. So far, they are both working. I suspect there is a loose wiring connection within the ceiling.

Thanks, RamSport47! You hit it on the head. The switches (one for the overhead lights and one for a light for the rope locker itself) were right where you said to look. Much appreciated.

I'll keep your approach in mind should I have further problems. Even if the lights keep working OK, I'm glad to know that the hardtop can support that much weight. In waxing the top of the hardtop, I was being very careful in crawling out far enough to reach all of it without putting my entire weight on it. Now I can feel a bit less squeamish about that. Thanks.

Just an idea for the future you might want to consider switching to high power LED arch lights. I changed mine out and the new LED's are far brighter and use 1/10th the current of the old Halogen fixtures. In my Mainship I had interior ligths that would work when they wanted to it ended up being poorly installed (factory) crimp connectors.
